Olu Brown, President
Olu graduated from Dalhousie University with a diploma in dental hygiene in 2009 and again in 2011 with a BDH from Dalhousie University. She was chosen by the Dean of Dentistry to represent the dental faculty in the 2011 convocation. Olu has valuable experience working with seniors and populations that live with mental illnesses.
This experience was ultimately the inspiration behind Smart Smiles Dental Hygiene and creating a service that is accessible to special needs populations and those with limited mobility.
Smart Smiles Dental Hygiene
Smart Smiles Dental Hygiene launched in 2010 with the hopes of delivering affordable preventative dental hygiene services to populations in need. Increasing access to care is our goal! Seniors, those who experience mobility restraints and other special needs populations have been, and continue to be, under serviced when it comes to dental and health care services as a whole. It is very important that these groups have access to this much needed necessity. In May of 2009, Legislation was passed granting self regulation of the dental hygiene profession. This has allowed Dental Hygienists to work independently of dentists in alternative practice settings, allowing Smart Smiles Dental to operate safe and effectively.
